Yeah, the one time we need the Flames to win a game for us, and they can't even be counted on to do that right. No wonder no one actually likes the Flames.
We beat the Wild, we fulfilled our part of the bargain!
Also, I've obviously been away from the blogosphere for a while - it seems every one is approving blog comments now. Apart from the obvious jackasses out there... *coff* Space Cowboy *coff* ... is there really a need for this? How many comments do you not approve?
Allie: Over the past 17 months, I've rejected 6 comments.
2 of them were petty, snarky comments that didn't add to the discussion in any meaningful way, and were just meant to be hurtful to others.
The other 4 were hateful, intolerant postings that I did not wish to have associated with me in any way, shape, or form.
While "The Enlightened Savage" might not be the name on my birth certificate, the things that are posted here, by blogger and reader alike, are ultimately my responsibility. I have no interest in associating myself, or my work on this blog, with libellious or hate-filled diatribes.
p.s. I'm pulling for the Flames to finish 5th - enjoy playing Anaheim. ;)

What the hell? I feel cheated. No wonder when I looked up "Savage, E." in the phone book and called him, the guy was really ticked and said for the last time quit calling me 20 times a day. I guess he mistook me for someone else. ;-)
Anon: It's true. The e-mails I've been getting from WWE fans wondering if my apparent cousin Randy "Macho Man" Savage can get them Wrestlemania tickets are starting to grate a little, as well... ;)

I was greatly saddened by the fact that I had to actually cheer for the flames.
Go Flames Go! :)

Dear Oilers:
Maybe if you actually bothered playing a full season you wouldn't have to count on other teams losing to make the post-season.
Sincerely,
The Not-Gonna-Be-Golfing-As-Soon-As-You Calgary Flames
wait... so you're not the kid from "The Wonder Years"?
Kirk: I *might* be... his/my birth certificate STILL wouldn't read "The Enlightened Savage"... unless Fred was his/my MIDDLE name... ;)
Hmmmm...
"Honey, it's a boy... what should we name him?"
"I'd like to name him after our fathers... he can have your dad's name for his middle name..."
"Fred?"
"Absolutely... and my dad's name for his first name."
"Why IS your dad named 'Enlightened', anyhow?"
